We’re launching a new weekly feature; Monday Mood Boards. We’ll be designing layouts based on trends and styles that we’re all loving, featuring products that we’ve seen that fit.
Eastern Influence
We’re starting with one of our favourite influences of the moment – the East. Wasabi colours, cane and bamboo, black woodwork and a hint of blossom to compliment.
Living Space
For the walls, we’ve picked Oval Room Blue from Farrow and Ball. We love the chalky finish of their Estate Emulsion and we think it would be perfect for this theme. For contrast, we’ve painted the ceiling in Off Black, also by Farrow and Ball, which simplifies the space. The floor is lime washed wood board.
Tip: when using masking tape to paint straight lines, first stick each piece on your jumper or another fiberouse surface to remove some of the stickiness – this will prevent it damaging the paint when you pull it off.
We love the current trend for cane weave furniture and it fits so well with this style. The Cane Weave Cabinet is by Urban Outfitters, priced at £849 but worth every penny. The cane weave bench is by Houseology and is priced at £549. For something on a lower budget visit Ikea who also offers a similar style bench for £85.
The floor features the Elspeth Beni Ourain Rug, a vintage one-off from our partner Sunday and Story, available on our website here.
The stunning amber glass vase is from Nordal and available in our online shop. The magnolia faux stems are from one of our faves Hello Flora priced at £26.
Shopping list

Dining Space
The dining space continues the colour scheme but with the addition of this fabulous Scion Zanzibar wallpaper from Wallpaper Direct, priced at just £39 a roll. A round wall mirror was a must. This one is called Bex in blush from Made.com.
The dining table is the main feature of the room of course and we’ve been lusting over this one for a while. Its called Imelda and it’s from Habitat, a feature piece priced at £1,200.
Tip: Style items in threes for the best effect
The rug is another vintage rug, but this time a soft kilim called Octave from our partner Sunday and Story, also available on our website here. We love the colour and warmth the rug injects into the room.
The sofa is a well-known face that’s sold so well for Made.com; The Scott Sofa in concrete. We love its bolster cushions and pin tucked feel. Perfect for this space in concrete velvet.
Finally, the chair is a modern bentwood chair in satin black from La Redoute. It’s a beautiful chair in an iconic design.
Shopping List
Shiro paper ceiling shade from Habitat, £10
Pink velvet cushion, £32
Black pitcher jug, small £14, large £22
Olive table linens, napkins from £14
Nordal Glass amber vase, £25
Wooden picture frames, from John Lewis, around £20
Bedroom
To create a more intimate feel we’ve introduced a black side wall to the bedroom space. Using another of Sunday and Story’s rugs under the bed to create a zone, the sleep space is split from the functional area.
The bed is one of our favourites, the Reema Natural Oak and Cane bed from Made.com. We’ve paired with the Waska cane wardrobe from La Redoute.
Tip: Ceiling lights don’t have to be central. Either move the rose or use a long flex to hang the bendant elsewhere in the room.
Bedside we’re using a simple black bedside table from Wayfair at just £96. Topped with an amber glass vase with a sprig of faux eucalyptus from John Lewis. The gold capsule shaped wall mirror is from Nordal, available on our website here.
We’ve bought in some pattern with Nordal’s floral cushion and matching floral footstool, both available on our website.
Lighting is always important in a bedroom. On the wall, we’ve featured a two arm wall lamp from Diiiz and the woven ceiling shade is also from Made.com at £59.
