Extraordinary Interiors in Colour

First thing first congratulations to Jane Rockett and Lucy St George on the release off their second book Extraordinary Interiors in Colour. Jane and Lucy are off course the formidable duo behind www.rockettstgeorge.co.uk The OnLine emporium where you can find unique, glamorous, eclectic, witty and rock ’n’ roll accessories for your home. Collections that are one of a kind, quirky and fearlessly bold. They are not just OnLine either, you could pop along to one of our go-to shops, Liberty of  London www.libertylondon.com where they have a show-stopping permanent concession space on the fourth floor showcasing their bestselling unique and eclectic homewares. It really is one of the most mesmerising shops you can go to, steeped in history and full of everything you can dream and desire off. And don’t forget to go to Arthurs restaurant on two, it’s open for brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, early dinner and all-day cocktails. Anna and I have tried and tested the cocktails for you and we both give them a thumbs up. Hiccup.

The first book, Rockett St George Extraordinary Interiors www.rockettstgeorge.co.uk/extraordinary-interiors-by-jane-rockett-lucy-st-george was bought by both Anna and I and no doubt many of you too. Not just for the coffee table, this is a really informative and helpful book to point you in the right direction with creating an individual home for yourself. When we found out they were launching a new book we were ready and waiting for the release. Lucky for us Jane and Lucy invited us along to Sketch London sketch.london for the book launch, where we were able to meet several of the amazing owners of the homes featured in the book. And of course, we couldn’t wait to catch up with Jane and Lucy, whom I must say were looking absolutely gorgeous and Lucy those boots, swoon.  Congratulations to both of you on your new book, it’s stunning and we love it.

Jane and Lucy have such a passion for colour and interiors that for book number two they knew they were going to delve deep into the world of colour. This new book explores the history and psychology and how colour can affect our emotions. Which we are both fascinated by. Great minds think alike, we would say. Their interior inspiration comes from travel, hotels, restaurants, Instagram, the natural world and vintage design. So pairing these together make sense and a perfect book was curated.

Starting at the beginning, Jane and Lucy investigate colour theory before plunging into the history of colour and how it affects our emotions. Next, they take a look at the natural world and explore what colour means in different cultures around the globe. They then tackle the million-dollar question, which colours should you choose? A final chapter explores inventive ways to decorate with colour, from bold blocking to brave use of contrasting hues. Each chapter has a real-life home that exemplifies the Rockett St George style. If you want maximum impact when updating your interior then order yourself a copy. You’re going to be transported across the globe in a world of colour, from Marrakech to Oslo. This book really is one to have and helps you create a home with bold, clever and creative use of colour. www.rockettstgeorge.co.uk/extraordinary-interiors-in-colour-by-jane-rockett-and-lucy-st-george
