Dining Room Inspiration

Having had a couple of dining room fails in the past (in my opinion anyway!), I’m currently fastidiously planning our current dining room before works begin next week. Some how I’m told this is all possible before Christmas.. and I hope it is otherwise we’ll all be eating off our laps on Christmas day. The plan so far is as follows:

  1. Panelling
Faux-panel the bottom half of the dining room wall to match the height of the kitchen worktops. The main reason for this is visually bind the room together through the archway which was left when the extension was built. Another reason is that this is where the dog live and children eat, and neither make for clean walls! I need them to be wipe clean.
  2. Ceilings
We’ve said goodbye to the artex and has the ceilings skimmed. I just need to paint them before…
  3. New wood floor
To be installed this week so I’d better get cracking on the ceiling!
  4. Wall paper removal
I’m so over the jungle wallpaper… I wish I wasn’t as it would be easier! Hoping it comes off nice and easily…
  5. New dining table
Marble topped is my first choice… but I’m still deciding as I do love my current G Plan astro legged teak table… hmmmm decisions decisions!

So today we’ve been looking at some dining room inspiration to try and help me with my dilemma… here’s what we’ve looked at:
