Bring on the colour
This year we’re seeing an explosion of colour entering out homes. Paired back minimalism is moving aside for full on colour palettes and maximalist styling. Bring on the excitement and the bold, colour is back and it looks like its here to stay.
It not all about contrast and in-you-face saturation, its about finding colours that go, palettes that put a smile on your face and lift your heart. When the weather outside is dull and dreary, a colourful home lifts the spirits and enhances your mood.
There are many ways to do it, but we’re seeing some key trends emerging as we move in SS18. Here are a few that have caught our eye.
Global colours
Inspired by travel and other cultures, the global style brings together different styles and influences joined by one key theme; colour. Lots of culture use colour to express emotion create ambiance, and this is very true with interiors too.
Once of the trend we’re seeing extends from the boho and craft trends. Using natural materials including dyes and pigments straight from nature’s palette. Following nature’s influence, bright colour really do work together, especially toned with cooling neutrals as a base.
Eclectic colour pop
A mix of bright colours make for a fun and playful space. Combine them with dark walls and the colours just zing out at you. Rich velvets and textured accessories give the colours added depth.
Paired with white walls colours feel fresh and clean. Pic the right tones and anything goes!
Totally tropical
Coral pinks, punchy pineapple and luscious greens. Bring a taste of tropical to your home. As peaches and pinks are totally back on trend, mixing them up with other tropical tones creates a fabulous effect.
