Our Decorex 2018
Wow what a week for UK interior design! London Design Week, Decorex 2018, so many launches and media parties, if only you could be in 5 places at once! One event we definitely had to attend was Decorex. Held at Syon Park in the beautiful west London suburbs, its received mixed reviews for location, but for us it was an easy place to get to and even more importantly, to park!
We were delighted to attend as Black Pop’s guest (thanks guys!) and one of our first stops was to find the lovely Maxine and say hello. Proudly featuring the October Elle Decoration magazine with their lovely designs featured on the front cover, Maxine was keen to see if we’d spotted their new rugs made in association with Knots Rugs. We had indeed! Having interviewed with Black Pop earlier this year, we were really excited to see the new rugs in person, fresh off the boat, only arriving the day before the show! If you’ve not seen them, take a look they’re fabulous! As we walked through the show we spotted lots more Black Pop design and creations in other stands. Maxine and the team have featured at Decorex since their launch and they’ve clearly made lots of supportive friends among the exhibitors. The central bar also had some of their cushions and a beautiful Eames chair.
There were lots of beautiful stands this year but a few really stood out for us, here are our top 5 stands from Decorex 2018.
Sweetpea and Willow
Bit of a show stopper and catching lots of people’s attention, the display was totally on trend. Sweetpea and Willow had two rooms styled; one was a beautifully styled deep dark green lounge and the other, a bedroom, had crisp white walls, appealing to both light-side and dark-side lovers. The lounge featured some of their stunning furniture including sofas, a coffee table and a beautiful sideboard that we really wanted to take home.
Curiousa & Curiousa
Had to mention these guys! Their amazing stand with their new lanterns looks spectacular!
Black Pop
For us Black Pop really stole the show! Every corner we turned, there was another chair upholstered in their beautiful fabrics or a wall lavished in their amazing wallpaper. Their stand itself was a sight for the eyes; so much patterns and colours, it made our hearts smile! We’re so happy to see the Black Pop team doing so well.
Judeco
A new name for us; Judeco. We were really impressed with their colourful and opulent stand. We loved the velvets, the patterns clashes, the mix of modern and vintage. All so we’ll choreographed together for maximum impact.
Coldharbour Lights
We so love these beautiful lights from a very talented lady. We remember the first of these lights that we spotted on Instagram and we were so pleased to see them all over the show, including in the main centre bar. They looked fantastic!
Bethan Grey
A stunning display over at Bethan’s stand. Her gorgeous inlayed furniture has really caught out eye this year. All made by talented craftspeople and curated into a fantastic collection by Bethan.
