Halloween interiors and decorations this half term

Halloween is coming and we’ve been getting ready quite in advance this year as half terms is upon us. Obviously we really go for the halloween interiors! I love to fill the house with autumnal colours in the form of leaf garlands, halloween-inspired bouquets (check out our Instagram competition to win one of these beauties from Bloom Magic) and of course the odd bat and spider. The kids are mostly interested in the goodies they get to fill their faces with, but they also enjoy a bit of crafting and pumpkin carving.

Gingerbread haunted house

This year we’ve taken on a halloween themed gingerbread house from Morrison’s. It comes with everything you need including the icing, sweets to decorate and it tastes good too! The kids were keen to get involved and from the actual house build on, they were pretty much doing it themselves.

We’ve gone all out with the pumpkins too. We got some from our local Slindon Pumkins, a festive pop up that offers to many types of pumpkins and squashes you’ll be torn between which ones to bring home. They also have some massive pumpkins, but I managed to get away without buying on fortunately (not sure I could have carried it back to the car anyway!).

The pumpkins here are one we got earlier in the week from Morrison’s. They have a great range this year including colourful squashes and ‘ugly pumpkins’ which I think are my favourites (the lumpy bumpy one below). They’re a great price at £3 each on average.

Table Dressing for Halloween

Once we’d finished our gingerbread house, we set the table for dinner using the pumkins and flowers from Bloom Magic. I love how all the colours work together. We accessorised the table with decorations from the Co-op including spider-web coasters, bats and cute pumpkin fairy lights.

Halloween Lounge Decorations

The dining room wasn’t the only room dressed to impress for Halloween. We decorated the lounge with a few extra pumpkins and also some garlands. Bryn the pup was a little too interested in the flowers! I’m not sure Halloween decorations are particularly pup-friendly!
