Our stay at Hoxton, Paris
If you’re into interiors, there are some places that you just know you have to visit. Not with the kids, maybe not even with your other half, but with someone who ‘gets it’ as much as you do! For us, one of those places was Hoxton, Paris.
We made plans to visit Maison & Objet on Sunday 20th January 2019 and luckily for us we managed to book a room at the fabulous Hoxton. We were super excited. It was Paris fashion week as well as the super impressive Maison & Object and we felt very lucky indeed to grab a room. We booked well in advance and got ourselves a really good deal with Secret Escapes.
We arrived completely shattered from a full day meandering and networking with brands that we want to work with on future projects. That is all hush hush and we will be letting you in on that secret later. For now its all about the Hoxton.

An elegant 18th Century residence in the 2nd arrondissement originally designed by architect Nicolas d’Orbay, 172 rooms over four floors, and by gosh beautifully designed. The hotel itself is arranged around a courtyard which encompasses three buildings and an internal network of 15, yes fifteen, staircases. Next time we will have to ask for a tour! The staircases that we did use were super impressive; that whole sexy curve vibe taking you up to the quaintest seating area ever, or up to the relaxing Jacques bar inspired by Marrakech’s famed Majorelle Garden. Beautiful.
With a quick hug and arm pinch, wide-eyed and full of excitement, we made our way to the reception area and were greeted by friendly, happy staff and straight away we relaxed into the Hoxton vibe.

Check in was super easy, and our eager eyes were darting around soaking up our surroundings and the unique ambience that only the Hoxton Paris can give. The atmosphere was electric, you could feel the vibe running through the walls, seeping into your veins and crackling into our tired eyes. The reception staff talked us through the breakfast bags – brilliant idea! – and we were off to our room to freshen up before supper in the restaurant.
We couldn’t get up to our room quick enough. We stayed in a cosy room which was perfectly formed to fit two people with the most amazing shower room. The bed was super comfy with gorgeous soft pillows, just how we like them. Super clean and super stylish with the soft tones of music coming from the Roberts radio. Perfect.
The interior of the room did not disappoint. The colour combination of off-black doors (which I am obsessed with at the moment!) mixed with the beautiful neutral wall colour from the ceiling to skirting and a block of colour on the wall behind the bed worked so well. The shower en-suite reminded me of an early lift from a fancy department store, geometric stone tiling on the floor and classic metro white for the walls – perfect!
Sink taps in subtle copper and shower fittings matching. Well designed and thought out. We both loved the little touches, like the ‘old bag’ saucer to pop your tea bags on or a badge for me apparently!
We ate in the Rivie brasserie, which again did not disappoint. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious! My fish was so soft and fluffy that it melted in my mouth. Now you have to have a cocktail! Oh my! We had Pink Ladies and gosh they were good, too good!
Too full for dessert I’m afraid – that will have to be for next time. We vacated our table and made our way up to the balcony area above the entrance via the super sexy curvy staircase and drank mint teas, before collapsing into bed.
Gosh, that bed was super comfy, just like home. We were out for the count and slept well. Morning arrived and outside our beautiful black bedroom door hung our two bags of breakfast goodies – just perfect! We sat in bed chatting and tucking into our breakfast bags. Granola yoghurt pots, banana and fresh orange juice. A perfect start to the day.
