Up Cycling

I normally buy really nice items with minimal scratches, a good colour and avoid anything that might need a lot of work as I have a day job and I have kids – so time is very limited to work on a project. However, I came across a nice looking Austinsuite Sideboard that had some of its Veneer chipped off which is pretty much irreparable so needed something different doing to it. For some reason I bought it and now I’m thinking over my options of what to do, so I turned to Pinterest (of course!).

Option 1 – Decoupage Up Cycling

There are some lovely examples and here are a few of my favourites:

I would have loved to do this, but realistically I felt my skills were lacking and  I think their probably takes a lot more time and a big clear space to do well.

Option 2 – paint a pattern

I really liked the idea of a pattern like these:
But again, time and skills put me off…

Option 3 – paint it all

As it says on the tin!

Option 4 – paint some of it…

I think this is the one! Spookily, someone has done the exact same thing with the same sideboard that I have…

Watch this space to see how I get on…
