Rattan

Rattan, cane, wicker, whatever you want to call it or whichever you prefer, is a super material that can create some marvellous items of furniture and accessories. The mid century style is full of it and if you like a more bohemian vibe then its right up your street!

rattan

Natural materials like rattan are great when used with both neutral colour palettes and the more out there tribal colours, typical of the boho style. They look fab with greenery and foliage and a sheep skin or throw can make a cane chair an inviting resting spot.

We’ve looked at these materials a few times now and we love how versatile they can be – great inside or out (within reason) and they’re relatively affordable compared to other materials. There’s also the joy of a vintage find from a charity shop or car boot sale. Is there anything better!?
