The bedroom; a retreat at the end of the day…
It is definitely that time of year when we stand back and look at our bedroom for solace, that feeling of comfort and warmth when its been hacking it down with rain all flipping day, your hair is plastered, your feet are soaked through and you’ve got a bit of a grump on. You get your soggy clothes off, run upstairs, warm up in a hot bath and get your comfy clothes on. Low and behold, just look at that bedroom, oh my look at you, look how lovely and cosy you are, oh go on then, lets ring for a pizza and stay in here for the rest off the evening. Oh come on, we’ve all done it!
Getting that cosy bedroom feel is what we’re after. We’ve been looking at what’s available and how to achieve it.
Yesterday I got caught out in the rain and I had that ‘search for solace’ feeling for sure! That’s it. The brushed cotton sheets are coming out, winter is coming… Love them. Cosy, soft and oh so warming.Â
Bedding featured opposite is from Urban Outfitters.
If you don’t have any then pop down to Matalan, they’ve come up trumps with a beautiful mustard set- they’re fantastic!
You can also get a pair of two bushed cotton pillow cases for just £5 at www.matalan.co.uk

Wayfair have a great range to choose from.
Graham and Green also have a lovely range. My favourite is the rose sheep skin (far right, buy it here)
Independent retails are also a great option, Cow Boy Kate has some really lovely ones if you budget can stretch.
Throw in some colour
Throws are an essential part of the coming chilly evenings, they finish your bed dressing very nicely – yes they do end up on the floor, but hey, when you have time to dress the bed they do look so lovely!  I tend to keep my summer duvet on, the 4.5 tog one, so my throws actually tend to stay on. There’s plenty of choice out there from velvet to silk and wool to linen. There’s lots of different price bracket as well…

So what about the colour of the walls and woodwork I hear you cry! Well to me it sure gives off that Vardo vibe.Â
And for the door I’d hang my hat on Purple Hyacinth, by Benjamin Moore.
